Sofia Aguirre '25 Recruiting Profile

     Continuing my water polo career in college has always been a goal of mine in order to become the strong, resilient leader I want to become.  As a center I have learned to adapt to playing with different types of players and have learned how in a leadership position to best motivate others and encourage and lift up my team in stressful situations.  Being a splash ball coach for my water polo club I have learned a lot about how to communicate effectively and give instruction clearly.  With aspirations of going into veterinary medicine I intend on majoring in biology in college.  In the summer of 2023 I completed a pre-veterinary medicine program at Tufts University and continue to find opportunities to work with animals in my community.  Learning how to make meaningful connections with all types of people is very important to me, that is why I started the Latinx Womxn Club at my school to unite fellow Latinas on campus and connect with new people to hear their own unique stories while also educating others on Latin culture.  A fun fact about me is that I have an interest in perfume since I am always trying to cover up the smell of chlorine, so I have accumulated quite the collection of body sprays and perfumes.  Also, I have a love for Taylor Swift and other pop music that makes me burst out into dance.  Lastly, watching movies is one of my favorite activities, so much so I am taking an art of film class in the 2023-24 academic year.
