Water polo is a significant portion of how I live my everyday life. Whether it's waking up early for practice, staying late for games or condition training throughout the day, this sport truly defines who I am as an individual and highlights the importance of my future aspirations.
As a team member, I possess collaborative qualities including sportsmanship, compassion and a strong willingness to help those around me persevere. However, as a leader, my ability to take authority and guide my team members towards accomplishing their goals sets me apart from those around me. Although I started off as a mediocre swimmer with no waterpolo background experience, my growth and improvement was prevalent and portrayed my enduring passion for the sport. As an athlete with an initial 50 second free time, I was able to drop to 28 seconds in the matter of a few months.
As an athlete, my noticeable improvement was perceived not only by my own coaches, but other swim and water polo professionals I had encountered. Throughout off-seasons, when practice was optional, I dedicated my utmost time and effort and committed to attending every session offered by my coaches. This all highlights my genuine commitment to the sport and dictates the measures I will go to continue improving.
