To whom it may concern,
My name is Zoe Gabriel and I am both anxious and excited to begin this journey as a collegiate student athlete. As I finish my Junior year at JSerra High School, I maintain a 3.43 cumulative GPA while competing in water polo and competitive swim. I also compete for CDM water polo for the 18s team. From a goals perspective. I want to win a Junior Olympic title, another CIF and State title, graduate High School, be a valuable contributor at the next level, graduate college and earn a degree which will set me up for a bright future.
I first stumbled across water polo at summer camp when I was in the 7th grade. Having swam competitively at a young age, I thought I would give it a try. Of all the sports I have played, Water Polo is for me. I love the competition, relationship building, being a part of a team, travel, and the benefits of staying healthy and active. I love leading and contributing with my teams. During my short career my coaches have noticed how versatile I can be and willing to do whatever it takes. I’m a solid contributor in the center and attacker. My Junior year I made ALL CIF with 91 goals, 74 KO, 22 steals, 3 blocks, 8 assists and led my team to a CIF and State Regional title for the first time in school history. My Dad is a current High School coach and former College athlete. We talk all the time about sport/life balance and loving the game for all that it offers. While many of the girls I speak to on deck are pressured to play or quickly burn out, for me it’s the opposite. I feel like I’m just getting started.
Regards,
Zoe Gabriel
