2022 HighlightsMy name is Mackenzie Weiler and I am a utility player for Lincoln High School in Stockton, CA. I currently play 2M and 2MD for Lincoln's Varsity Girls' Water Polo team. I have also been a sprinter and played in the wing position. I ended the Fall 2024 High School season with 103 goals. I led our league for much of the season but ended up #2 in the Tri-City Ahtletic League, #3 in the Sac-Joaquin Section - Division 1, #7 in the Sac-Joaquin Section overall, #19 in California, and #32 Nationally for goals scored, based on MaxPreps standings. I am looking forward to the start of our 2025 Fall Season.
I have attended several camps (including the Olympic Development Program, Penn State Elite, and Nike Sports Camp at Cal Berkeley) and learned a lot about the sport. I have grown as a player after each experience and strive to continue to grow and learn in this sport.
This past winter and summer season, I moved to a smaller team to gain more one on one coaching and further develop as a player. Playing for Turul Water Polo Academy, I started on the 19u team in the California Super League Tournament in the Winter and the Hardcore Cup and California State Challenge in the summer. I played in the 2M, 2 M Defender, and wing positions.
During the summers of 2023 and 2024, I played for Big Valley Water Polo Academy in Stockton, CA. I was on the 16u team and played in the June Santa Cruz Classic, 2024 Junior Olympic Qualifiers, Golden State Invitational, and the Junior Olympics. I primarily played wing and either trailer or sprinter. I also played center and point when needed. I played mainly on the 1-2 side but I can also play the 4-5 side.
I swam year-round with Tiger Aquatics from 2016 through the spring of 2024, including during the water polo season. I have participated in the Central Califonia Swimming Junior Olympics since 2018, with the exception of Summer 2020 and Summer 2023. I am also a member of the Varsity swim team for Lincoln High School. As a freshman, I qualified for the CIF Sac-Joaquin Sections on two different relays and in the 50 and 100 freestyle. My relay team placed 3rd overall in the JV girls 4x100 free relay. As a sophomore, I have qualified for the CIF Sac-Joaquin Sections in the 50 freestyle and two different relays.
I serve my community as a pool monitor at my community pool during the summer and am in the process of training as a USA Swimming Junior Official.
In the summer of 2021 and 2022, I was invited to and attended the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) through Envision by WorldStrides in Washington, DC and in Boston, MA, respectively. As an aspiring lawyer, I was on our school's speech and debate team during my freshman year. As a sophomore, I am enrolled in Criminal Justice and successfully prosecuted a case during our Mock Trial.
