My name is Audrey Lacey. When I was younger I played about every sport there is, or so it seemed, but I always loved the water sports. Eventually, I focused on competitive speed swimming, but six years ago I found the sport of water polo, fell in love with it, and it has been my primary sport every since. I really like the team aspect of water polo. While I might come across as a little quiet and reserved at first, if you asked any of my teammates or coaches I am very confident they would tell you I'm a great team player and teammate, both in and out of the water. Over the past five years, I have played on my club team , as well, as on the provincial team, Team Saskatchewan. On the provincial team, I not only play at my age group level but for the last four years have been selected to also play up one age group higher. I believe having the opportunity to practice and play up one age group level has really helped me develop and grow my water polo skills.
While training and playing water polo are a big part of my life, academics and getting good grades at school are also extremely important to me. As a result, I am very hopeful I can achieve my university academic goals while continuing to play the game I love. When I'm not training for water polo or studying, you will find me refereeing or coaching water polo to younger kids.
