I began playing waterpolo when I was 10 years old in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada. I became a goalie during my first year of playing and have been in the net ever since. In the 2017-2018 season, I made the National Team long list for both the 19u Panams team and the 18u World's team. I was the only 2002 goalie centralizing for the two teams. After going to centralization and having that experience, I decided to move to Regina, Saskatchewan to have access to better, more intense training to improve my skills. This choice shows that I will do anything to have a successful waterpolo career. This year I competed as starting goalie at the 17u Youth Panams in Trinidad and also played at JO's in California. Due to playing with many different teams, I have solidified my adaptivity within the game and built my confidence as a goalie to direct the defence. My grades as well as my waterpolo career are both my priorities going into university, and I am looking for a school who values both athletics and academics. My experiences playing with many different teams at different levels have taught me to be adaptable to different styles of play as well as different levels of waterpolo. While training 18 hours a week, I also am a grade 8 flute player with the Royal Conservatory of Music, and was able to hold an above 90% (4.0 GPA) average at school.
