Personal Statement
Less than three months after joining (in the Fall of 2018) a local club water polo team, I fell in love with the sport. It was evident by how quickly I learned the game, so much so that the club coaches asked me to join the national club water polo team. I had to push myself hard in order to play near the same level as my peers, that had at least three years of playing the sport, in a short period of time. I was skilled enough to play on the elite 14U national club team at the Kap 7 tournament in February 2019. Also, I assisted my national club team with competing in the National Junior Olympics and was ranked 17th place in the summer of 2019, which was the highest-ranking our national club water polo team had achieved.
In my Freshmen year I played on both JV and Varsity high school water polo teams to continue to gain strength and knowledge of the game. I was very disappointed that my Sophomore season was cut short due to COVID 19. Fortunately, Texas allowed water polo club tournaments to resume in September 2020. I've been able to play the sport that I'm passionate about in several Texas tournaments including playing on coed teams. I look forward to playing on coed teams as they are a great opportunity to showcase my excellent defensive skills, strength, and speed against the male players. I've uploaded a few videos that demonstrate my playing style.
