As a varsity wrestler at DVHS for the past three years, I’ve embraced both the challenges and triumphs that define this sport and its community. Wrestling has become one of the most fulfilling aspects of my life, teaching me discipline, resilience, and mental toughness—qualities that have become a part of who I am today. I vividly recall being a freshman, inspired by the upperclassmen who believed in me, and now I strive to provide that same encouragement and guidance to others.

By my sophomore year, I was honored to lead the orientation for new wrestlers—a full-circle moment that served the importance of giving back to the team that has profoundly shaped me. One of my proudest accomplishments came during my first year of freestyle competition, when I placed in the top eight at the Fresno Freestyle State in my weight class. That milestone affirmed the value of hard work and commitment, motivating me to continue pushing my limits.

As I approach this upcoming season, my excitement is twofold: to compete at the highest level and to mentor the freshmen stepping onto the mat for the first time. Wrestling has taught me that confidence is often born from the encouragement of others, and I hope to instill that belief in the next generation. I look forward to fostering the strong sense of community that defines our team and continuing my growth both as an athlete and a teammate.
