I started off my wrestling career my sophomore year because we did not have a girls basketball team that year. I had never done wrestling before nor thought of it, I just needed to do something to stay in shape. Throughout the year I had learned a lot and quickly, I had qualified for states my first year as a 115 pounder. My second year of wrestling I had done both basketball and wrestling, so my season was very hard I had gotten horribly sick with a massive ear infection, I had sprained the tendons in the bottoms of my feet the following year and the pain had came back. I broke my partners collarbone in practice a week before girls regionals, who was 132 pounder. I also had an inflamed gallbladder due to a blow to the rib in a wrestling match against a boy. I wrestled through all of my pains as much as I can, I have never given up a match because of my pains. I did not qualify for states my second year because I had not put enough time on the mat as I should have. This will be my third year of wrestling and I will be putting in over time to meet the needs to qualify for states and place, I have confidence that I will make it because it’s my only goal to focus on.
