Wrestling has really impacted my life for the better. It has pushed me and broken me to build me up. I want to further my career. To get more chances to prove myself. I always grew up with wrestling and it feels almost natural for me, even though I just started competing m sophomore year, I have broken school records, and was the first girl from my school to qualify for state. Although wrestling is important and a primary factor in my life, school, and grades, doing good in school is crucial for me. I am a student before I am an athlete.
Not only am I a student-athlete, but I am an extremely active member of the FFA, and as well as 4H, going into a school with a good agriculture and science program is necessary for my future career. Being involved in these extracurricular activities has not only given me so many opportunities, such as competitions, public speaking, raising animals, and team skills. Much like in wrestling, I learned discipline and hard work. Which has bettered me as a person.
I had to work from the bottom and quickly. I was behind everyone else because I started much later. My hard work certainly paid off in my opinion, so I strive to get to the next level and push myself. I may not think of myself as a leader, but through my experiences, I have always found myself to be the team captain and to lead others into joining the sport because of my passion and love towards the sport. I definitely want to promote women wrestling, for it is one of teh fastest growing sports in Oregon. i want to be apart of that.
Having the opportunity to wrestle in college and my goal is to improve. I love wrestling, it is my all-time favorite sport, the adrenaline rush, the thrill, the moment when you shake the opponent's hand and all goes silent. It's just you and them on that mat, I love that feeling. I want to keep going in wrestling, I want to grow, and improve myself as a competitor, compete with the best, and learn from my experiences.
