I always believe that hard work pays. I have watched my parents work hard for everything they have and have provided for my siblings and I. I’m the first child from our family who has managed to enter college direct from high school. This was entirely out of handwork and many sacrifices; life has never been easy cannot thank my mother enough for being my constant mentor throughout the tiring journey. Despite the many struggles in our family, she never gave up on her hope of getting a college education, and I am so happy that she was able to join a college last year. I am following in her footsteps as she has shown society that nothing is impossible in the face of the sun.
My schoolmates can attest that I am a go-getter, and whatever I decide to do, I do perfectly. My handwork goes beyond classwork alone but also into other valuable activities. For instance, for the six years I was at the Clarkston School District, I was part of the boys wrestling team and even became an MVP for 4 of the years I was on the team. The experience was amazing, and I can never forget it. I went to State my freshman year and my senior year placing 2nd in the 105-weight class. I love what wrestling has taught me and also what I have accomplished in wrestling. I believe in my leadership skills since I have been part of DECA for years and participated in State DECA this year. With the knowledge I gathered from the meetings, I feel competent enough to handle issues that may arise from people of different origins. Currently, I am operating between two jobs that are only possible with a lot of dedication and perseverance.
Working with love yields success, and I suppose this is my driving force for studying forestry in college. I know the value of the environment and have seen the harm human beings are imposing on it, and so people like me have to work hand in hand to give it back its lost glory. As soon as I graduate, I intend to pick up a job in forestry. This is where my heart belongs, and I know that I will leave a legacy worth remembering given an opportunity.
