Dear Coach:
From early on, sports have been one of my main focuses. I've played a variety of different ones, all with the hope of playing for a college when I was old enough. As I got older, I realized this was not the cake walk I believed it would be. At an early age, I realized I would have to put in more effort than my teammates. This originally bothered. I was upset that I had to try harder, and that my best seemed to be less than enough.
When my oldest brother reached high school, he put in the extra effort in practices, at home, and in the weight room. He inspired me to be better every day. Because of him, I don't care that I have to work harder. I am able to push myself to my limits because he inspired me to always be the best I could be. His level of dedication is what I strive to achieve day in and day out.
This year (2018-2019), I am truly pushing myself to the limit. I am currently participating in three school supported sports, and two sports outside of high school. I currently participate in a weights class at the end of the school day, which is followed by practice for two and a half hours, another workout session, and then a club wrestling practice. I may not be the best, but I truly strive to be.
Thank you for your time,
Charlie E. Johnson
