I am a military brat and have lived around the world. It was tough sometimes to keep adjusting to new locations, new schools, different sports programs and a revolving door of friends. Over the years, we have lived overseas several times and been stationed at interesting places. Through this experience, I have learned to be independent and adaptive. I have competed in martial arts, baseball, soccer, and cross country before discovering my love of wrestling. I started wrestling late in 9th grade in Maryland but continue to improve each year. I was selected as Captain of the JV Team in 10th grade at my new school in Florida and am now the Captain of the Varsity Team as a Senior. I expect to be competitive at the State level this year after a disappointing, late-season illness slowed me down at Regionals last year. As a student, I have taken Honors classes when possible and have also done volunteer work, completed 2 years of NJROTC, and worked outside of school. My parents have worked hard to help me overcome early childhood intervention special needs to be a mainstream student and to make sure I was never disadvantaged by all the moving around due to the military, and so I hope to make them proud by excelling in college as a student-athlete. When I find a passion for something, it gives me energy and I know I will keep improving as both a student and a wrestler in my college career. I hope to attend the same college for 4 years and be a contributing member of a competitive wrestling team and earn my bachelor degree.
