Jackson Hanselman '26 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to be a well rounded student-athlete.  I work very hard everyday in the classroom and on the mat to achieve my goals.  I believe if you ask my teachers and my coaches they will all say that my effort, heart and determination to succeed is one of my greatest strengths.  My goal in the wrestling room is that no one will ever out work me.  I started wrestling when I was 8, and also played baseball and football until my sophomore year.  At the beginning of my sophomore year I began to wrestle year round.  Freshman year I went undefeated on the freshman team, won the sophomore conference, won frosh/soph sectionals, went 16-5 varsity ranked HM IL3A 126#, and wrestled varsity team state dual tournament, 37-7 overall record.   I followed that up sophomore year going 38-11 varsity 144# IL3A, ranked HM, all conference, regional champion, placed third frosh/soph State, 51-12 overall sophomore record. 2024 Illinois Fargo FS 144# qualifier.    I believe that my wrestling trajectory is very high and I have not come even close to reaching and fulfilling my full potential.  I am very proud to be a great teammate and team wrestler.  My sophomore year I wrestled up 2 weight classes to help my team win a  conference dual, and won that match.  My goal: To continue to be a great student in college while becoming a great collegiate wrestler.
