I am a student athlete at Goreville High School. At Goreville High School, we are expected to excel in the classroom and in sports. They have helped me become a successful student and athlete. Our small town is more like a family. The community is caring and supportive to all students. I am thankful that I can call it home.
I have grown up on a family farm in Southern Illinois. This experience has taught me about hardwork and responsibility. The most important lesson is that you must have respect for those around you and your animals. I am passionate about helping people and animals. This has led me to pursue a career as a veterinarian or a physical therapist.
My father was a first generation college student. He went to college while working a full time job. He has taught me the dedication it takes to go to college. I am grateful to my parents for giving the opportunity and support to achieve my dreams. My first obligation is to get a degree so that I can give my family the same opportunities.
I enjoy wrestling because even though your on the mat alone it is still a team sport. I enjoy being competitive with my teammates and it has helped me through out my wrestling career. I enjoy practice and preparation for competition.
Being able to help my fellow teammates through their struggles led me to run for student council and beta. I do these to help not only our community and school but to be an example to others and to push them to do their best in the classroom and in sports. In the clubs, we focus on fundraising and donating to the poor and less fortunate to be able for them to get a good education and have a good home life. This is what I'm passionate about.
