My first match as a Varsity freshman proved to be a win over my opponent. It was that win, wrestling became part of my identity. I quickly gained the reputation as “the wrestler that never gives up.” I take pride in being a part of the wrestling family, but also pride on the mat. I believe winning or losing, is my choice. Wrestling has become a part of the person I am today, for which I am very proud. I dedicate myself to get better in skill, strategy and love for the sport every day. My goal for the next year is to place at the state level.
Grades are also important to me. I balance the need to train and prepare for sports as for my academics as well. I proudly maintain a 3.78 grade point average or higher. My senior year, I plan to take more college courses to develop my organizational and study skills to prepare me for college academically.
I want to be a positive influence for others, by always doing my best, never giving up, and practicing good sportsmanship. My love for Christ has led me to want to continue my wrestling journey at a Christian College, majoring in Business. This would allow me to grow spiritually, physically and academically. My long-term goal is to take over my family business to continue the hard work and values instilled by my family, teammates, and coaches.
