Joe Butler '11 Recruiting Profile

I am 5'10 and wrestle 171 lb weight class for a 2A high school in Mt. Zion, Illinois. I have wrestled since I was 6 years old. I love wrestling and football and would like to be able to compete in both at a college level. Wrestling has been a major part of my life since I was 6 years old. I am currently ranked 2nd in the State of Illinois, qualified for state my junior year, my high school record is to date 110-32, I hold the all time high school pin record and my goal is to win State this year. As for football...I led the team in tackles every year that I have played. I played varsity football my sophomore year and was named All-Conference Honorable Mention, All-Conference and All County my junior year. All-Conference and All-County First Team Linebacker (unanimous decision), All-State Honorable Mention my Senior year. I was also named MVP defense and Real Men Wear Pink Fan Award Linebacker. I would like to pursue wrestling and am open to explore opportunities at all divisions. A DI school would be my dream, but I am more interested in being in a competitive school where I will have an immediate impact on the team.
