It all started when Coach Smitty, a legendary coach, saw something special in me when I first joined the JV wrestling team. He pushed me to get better, and I ended up dominating my freshman year, even making varsity.

Since joining the wrestling team, I've maintained a relentless work ethic, pushing myself to new heights and adding to my growing collection of tournament hardware and accolades:

• Husky Open - 2nd place at 170 pounds (2023)
• Husky Open - 1st place at 190 pounds (2024)
• 5th place in the county at 190 pounds (2024)
• MAWA South District Champion at 220 pounds (2024)
• MAWA West Region Champion at 220 pounds (2024)
• Defeated a state placer in Delaware twice in a row at the Bison Duals and the Atlantic City Duals Tournament (2024)
  Howard County Champion at 190 pounds (2025)
  2A/1A West Regional Champion at 190 pounds (2025)
  2A/1A Placing 6th in the state at 190 pounds (2025)

However, I understand that individual accolades are only part of the equation when it comes to building a successful wrestling program. That’s why I’m dedicated to being a true leader both on and off the mat. As a team captain in lacrosse, I ensured that everyone brought their A-game, whether it was getting to practice on time or cleaning up the locker room.

As the only wrestler in my family, I take immense pride in watching fellow Afro-Cuban athletes like Mijain Lopez achieve remarkable feats, such as his five Olympic gold medals. Their success inspires me to push the boundaries of what I can accomplish in this sport.

Academically, I've maintained a strong GPA as I continue to work towards my degree in Mechanical Engineering. I understand the importance of balancing athletic and academic pursuits, and I'm committed to excelling in both realms.

As I move forward in my collegiate wrestling career, my mission is to continue building upon the foundation I've established, both as an elite competitor and a respected leader. I’m confident that my combination of wrestling prowess, academic excellence, and unparalleled work ethic will make me a valuable addition to any college program seeking to achieve sustained the success.
