Thomas Nguyen '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Thomas Nguyen. I've always been some sort of athlete my whole life, whether it was basketball, soccer, or swimming at the YMCA. However, wrestling was much different for me, as I picked up the sport my freshman year and fell in love with it since then. I aspire to shoot as high as I possibly can. Earning a state championship title is one of my dreams but I want to keep improving, building up my skill set and jump levels, with the desire to eventually compete at the next level in college and potentially even after that. In the room, I push not only myself but my teammates as well as I want to see them succeed and fulfill their goals, holding them to the same standard I hold myself to. 

I'm currently heading into my off season, ending my sophomore season on a strong note with a 38-7 record. I placed top 3 in every regular season tournament,  placing 2nd at the 2024 Devin Ness Memorial Tournament coming in unseeded, falling in the finals to the eventual 2024 New England Championship runner-up, 3rd at the 2024 Marshfield Holiday Tournament, and 1st at the 2024 James Peckham Tournament. In the postseason, I had an amazing run, becoming the MIAA 2024 D1S 120 sectional runner-up, placing 5th in the 120 weight class at MIAA 2024 D1 States, and qualifying for 2024 All States. I was able to achieve all this success in my sophomore year thanks to just one year dedicating myself in the off season and my coaches at Braintree and Metrowest United, going from fringe starter on the team and not competing in the postseason, to reaching close to 40 wins and becoming an All State qualifier. I'm excited to improve myself and my skills while helping out my teammates however I can, looking forward to my future and the team's.
