Personal Statement
Currently ranked #5 pound for pound in the state of Minnesota, I have always been a driven individual. Both as a student and an athlete, I continually look for challenges and ways to better myself. I hold myself and my values to a higher standard than most. My coaches would also agree that I am very disciplined and work harder than most individuals.
At the MN State HS tournament my freshman year, I completed and won my match with an injury. I was injury disqualified for the remainder of the tournament. This set back motivated me to come back even stronger and push myself even harder. During the time I could not compete, I continued to help coach and motivate my teammates.
During my sophomore year, despite having lost in the championship match in the final seconds of the third period at the MN State HS tournament, I led by example and maintained my composure. I stayed positive while accepting runner-up and put my focus on training harder and setting my sights on achieving my goals for my upcoming junior year.
During my junior year I finally achieved my goal and I won a Minnesota state championship at the 152 pound weight class winning by Major Decision in the finals. I truly Believe this proves that my work ethic and confidence allow me to accomplish anything I set my mind to.
I am an honor role student with a 3.45 GPA, and take many AP courses. I believe I would be an asset to any wrestling team and college academic program.
