Personal Statement
My name is William Pryor, and I attend John M. Morehead High School in Eden, NC. My best effort is put forth in everything that I do, whether it be academics, wrestling, or training, to receive maximum results and be the best that I can be. Since my freshman year, wrestling has become a lifestyle for me, and I plan on continuing to live the wrestling lifestyle after high school.
During season, I practice about ten times a week, at school, at the gym, and my club team, Arrichion. I decided to join Arrichion in order to become the best possible wrestler I can be. Arrichion has definitely brought my wrestling skills, mindset, and technique to the next level. I am a captain of my high school wrestling team. I have lead my team to two dual team state championship appearances, winning one of them, and a individual team state championship.
Outside of wrestling, I am active in many school and community organizations. In school, I am a member of two elite clubs, National Honor Society and Student Council. I am currently the president of National Honor Society and the Senior Class Treasurer. I also hold a seat on my hometown's, Eden Youth City Council. Soccer and baseball used to be my two main sports, but after my freshman wrestling season, I knew I had to give up those distractions and focus on wrestling.
Currently I am unsure of an intended major, but I am interested in philosophy and psychology.
I believe I will be able to contribute to a University's athletic program with discipline and determination. My ultimate goal is to excel in the classroom, and succeed on the mat.
