Personal Statement
I fell in love with the sport of wrestling at the age of 6 when my dad took me to my first practice at the local high school. I spent some time wrestling locally and eventually realized that there was a different level to the sport. I knew that I was going to have to do extra work to better myself as a wrestler and a person. I joined Team Miron wrestling where I spent 5 years training and learned many valuable lessons regarding skills and hard work. After 5 years at Miron's I realized that the next step to growing in my wrestling career was to switch to Collin Palmers Club. I knew this was the right decision for me when I placed 7th in the state as a freshman. I had never achieved state placement in junior high or grade school. I have learned so much from the sport of wrestling. The lessons I've learned wrestling have impacted and will continue to impact the rest of my life.
I am excited to continue my wrestling career through high school and onto the collegiate level. I am looking to continue to improve my skills and abilities through hard work in my high school room and my club. I want to be my high school's first OHSAA four-time state placer and would like to accumulate 2 state titles in this process. I believe that when I walk into a wrestling room, I am not only bettering myself but bettering the teammates around me. I think that my greatest attribute to a wrestling program is the leadership I bring into the room. I strive to be the hardest working kid in the room and always lead by example. It is important that I show leadership by helping everyone get ready and warmed up before practice and clean the room before and after practice. I look forward to speaking to you regarding the educational opportunities and the wrestling program at your school.
