Hi, my name is Kenta Despe and I am the varsity wrestler at 113lbs. It would be an honor to have an opportunity to compete in college. When it comes to wrestling I am very driven and work toward my goal of becoming a state champion. During the summers I partake in intensive wrestling camps such as Kaizen and Jrob in order to improve myself. During the off season I wrestle freestyle and greco. As a freshman, my goal was to make it to the state tournament, however I came short of my goals and went as an alternate. This failure in my career was major motivation for me to work harder and achieve great things for my Sophomore season. During my Sophomore season, I was able to go to state and ended up placing 6th at State. Although I was not satisfied with my 6th place finish, it gave me a taste of satisfaction and only added to my hunger of achieving victory. Grinding every day and still not achieving your goals was a very bitter lesson to learn, however it was an important stepping stone in leaning how to better myself every day.
I will be a state champ.
