The first time I wrestled was in 9th grade. I didn’t have a lot of experience, and, honestly, I didn’t really want to wrestle. I decided to wrestle after football season so I could stay busy. After losing my first match I wanted to quit. I kept practicing and getting better. The better I became, the more I fell in love with the sport. I finished 5th in the South Carolina Regionals and knew that this was a sport I could really enjoy. I missed wrestling my 10th grade year as I moved to Rhode Island. Now as a High School Junior in Lynnwood, Washington, I have had three tournaments and a couple duals. I have two 3rd places and a 1st place. My record is 14-4. My coach tells me I am improving daily. I made it to state last year and finished in 8th out of the state in my weight class.
I am looking for a college that will help me excel in wrestling. I want to obtain a college degree that will help me in the future. My goals are to finish college, raise a family, and get a job in something that I enjoy.
I am excited about this journey and am ready for the challenges ahead.
