Kal Gerber '15 Recruiting Profile

Wrestling is my passion.  It is my goal to competitively wrestle at the collegiate level and earn national recognition, while maintaining a solid academic career.

I have just finished my senior year of high school wrestling.  Finishing with my 8th consecutive trip to the Wisconsin State tournament.  I placed 2nd this year, with my only loss of this season in the championship match at 126#.  This followed two years that I did reach the top of the podium as a state champion.  Though, I was disappointed to not have won that final match and become one of the elite three time state champions in the state of Wisconsin, I am moving ahead, working hard with big goals and dedication.  I have already competed post season in the Corn Cob Nationals, again placing 2nd (133#), and have many more tournaments on the calendar for the spring to come.

I am exceptionally dedicated and hardworking in and out of sports. I have earned team recognitions of MVP, Captain and ‘Most Dedicated’ in wrestling, cross country and baseball.  I have maintained a 4.0 GPA, while lettering in three sports. This has placed me number one in my class and helped me to earn the recognition of Academic All-State First Team in wrestling for three years now.  While wrestling is my passion, I remain well-rounded by participating in other activities, the highlight of which would include running half-marathons, helping in my community, and enjoying family, friends and life in general.
