Hi! I am Abigail Neal ("Abby" on the court) from Arizona. When four-year old me held a basketball for the first time, I knew that I had found my passion. There were no girl teams in Arizona for beginners, so I played with all boys for the first five years of my basketball journey which taught me grit, resilience and the ability to overcome obstacles when things didn't seem fair. My goal ever since I can remember is to play basketball at a Division I school. But what makes me different? As a point guard, I am able to lead, direct and take charge of any situation while still maintaining composure. I recognized my strong basketball IQ at an early age. As a cerebral player, I have a strong natural ability to see the court and visualize the passes and plays one or two steps ahead of time. Many of my coaches have told me that my basketball IQ is advanced for my age and is one of my strongest skills. My game has been described as "crafty" and "creative." I am an unassuming but lethal guard as I am able to use my quickness to get steals, create space for shots and complete assists with bullseye accuracy. My passing, floaters and mid-range jumpers are some of my strongest attributes as I have learned to perfect these skills when scoring on others bigger than me. I also am very accurate from the three-point line and have been known to hit threes from the logo without a second thought. I would liken my game to Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers and Hailey Van Lith. I use my height, that some may see as a weakness, as my greatest superpower on the court. I hope to find a Division I school that is looking for my particular athletic skills and can also provide me with excellent academics, as I have always prioritized my education over all else. Finding a school who wants me as much as I want them is the ultimate goal.
