What the Coaches are Saying...
Feb 07, 2019

“Luther is a great place to get a quality education along with playing highly competitive soccer. We have a rich history at the program and a renewed energy and excitement for this coming 2012 season. The program has won seven of the last thirteen Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, and made six NCAA Tournament Appearances, including Top-10 finishes in 1996 and 2001. You can go to our website sports.luther.edu to learn more about our program. I am also attaching a brochure about our program. I am including a couple of links that I thought you would enjoy in regards to our success including highlights from our IIAC Championship run along with being ranked the #1 Defense in the Nation. Our program is looking for highly talented and driven soccer players who want to succeed both on and off the field. We are looking for players to come in straight away and make an immediate impact in our program. One of our biggest strengths at Luther College is the campus. It is a beautiful 800-acre campus with the Upper Iowa River running right through the campus. Here are some images to give you a look at the campus: http://www.luther.edu/admissions/visit/campusimages.aspx The student housing is very comfortable living. All of the soccer players enjoy their time on campus. It is a residential campus where the majority of students live on campus. Many of the seniors do live off campus in either apartments or houses but live in close proximity of the campus. There is a strong sense of community on campus and the college provides a number of activities to keep the students engaged throughout the year. Luther College brings in some big name musical artists such as Dave Matthews Band, Nickel Creek, Jurassic 5, Ben Folds, Jason DeRulo, and Sean Kingston. We have one of the best facilities in our conference and I am looking to make some improvements over the next couple of years. This past May we re-grated and irrigated our practice facility and game field. This past season, the surface was not in the best shape but I know after a year of growth the surface will be top-class for next season. With this improvement, our fields will be some of the best in the Midwest. All of our players are looked after quite well by our medical staff; we have a full-time medical staff member who looks after the needs of the soccer players. My goals for next season is to win the conference again and get back to the NCAA National Tournament. I believe we have a solid core of players back next year and hopefully can include another player of your caliber to the program.”
