What the Coaches are Saying...
Dec 06, 2023

“The University of St. Thomas Cross Country team is a brand new program that will begin competition in the Fall of 2018. At the moment, the team is looking for recruits that are interested in a small school feel in the big city. We are looking for strong student-athletes that want to compete in Cross Country with the option of doing track or road races in the Spring time. St. Thomas is a great academic university with strong programs in business, education, nursing and other liberal arts majors. Coach Ryan Dohner is an experienced runner having run at the University of Texas and for HOKA NAZ Elite professionally. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to run with my team next year. I think it will help my athletes to see their coach working alongside them. An extra benefit is that I can see if someone is slacking or pushing too hard on a run. When a coach tells the runners to go run 8 miles, and then doesn't see them for an hour, they are missing out on a big portion of coaching." - Says Coach Dohner in a recent article on after running a 62:43 1/2 Marathon. At St. Thomas you can expect to have the attention on the field and off with a community of people who care about their athletes.”
