John Upton '27 Recruiting Profile

My name is John Berry Upton, but my teammates call me JB.  I'm an 8th grader at Auburn Junior High School in Auburn, Alabama where I'm currently playing for our 8th grade baseball team.  Although I've been considered a utility player, I'm mostly playing short stop right now (for my school team).  I have played center field and catcher this season as well, but I have to admit, short is my favorite.  I will play on WOW Factor Nationals this summer which I'm looking for to that level of competition.  I've played the game as long as I can remember and have loved it ever since!  I have had the opportunities to play, but more importantly to learn the game from so many awesome coaches to this point in my career.  I'm coachable and eager to learn and I know hard work and consistency is key.  I work with a trainer two mornings per week before school because I know the importance of all aspects of training.  I am always working to improve my flexibility, strength, agility, and mental game so I can be my best.  My drive and work ethic set me apart from others.  I'm focused but also a great teammate.  I know I'm capable of playing ball at the collegiate level, which has been my dream since I was 7!
