Baseball has had a huge effect on my life. It has taught me many lessons about life and the importance of a strong work ethic. It has enabled me to learn how to push myself even when I feel I cannot go any further. It would be my dream to play baseball at the collegiate level, and achieve not only athletic success, but also academic success. I am playing baseball, basketball, and football for my school team, starting as a freshman for baseball, and maintaining a 4.0 and being number 1 in my class.
Being the youngest of three boys raised by a single mom is not easy. When I was eight, my father died of Bile Duct Cancer leaving my mom to care for us. Although it was a difficult time, I found refuge and security in baseball. It taught me to work through the hardships and move forward with my life. You do not always succeed in baseball, and it is the same in life. If you put the work in and do your part, you achieve and appreciate what you have.
