My name is Hunter NeSmith. I am a 2017 graduate of Carbon Hill High School in Alabama. I've played sports (baseball, football, and basketball) since the age of 5. I played league ball mainly as a 3rd baseman and at shortstop, but over the years I have learned all the positions. Having ACL surgery, in 2014 and 2017, has made being a catcher a little more challenging though. My senior year I played a little at every position but centerfield. I am a switch hitter, which is pretty cool and rare. I helped my team go to the first round of the state playoffs this year and I ranked in the Nation, State of Alabama and in 3A in Alabama. . Playing sports, or training for all three in the summer, has been my life for the last 13 years; making the first couple of weeks after graduation tough since I have time on my hands. I am currently enrolled at Bevill State Community College studying to be an Electrician. I would love to be out on the field again playing baseball !
My senior year, 2017, I received Outstanding Student Athlete Award for maintaining grades high enough to be in the National Honor Society while playing three sports. It was the first time to ever be awarded to a student at Carbon Hll High School. I also was elected by the student body (9th -12th) Mr. Carbon Hill High School, Most Athletic, received MVP, Most Stolen Bases 36/37, Walt Williams Golden Deeds Award. Also I made ASWA All -State 2nd team as a utility player and Eagle Elite(All County) 1st team at 1st base. I play 1st, 2nd, 3rd shortstop and pitch. I am a hard worker with strong work ethics and Im always eager to learn.
