I live on a small island in Alaska where we have about 2,000 people and 60 students in our high school. Due to our geogprahic location and unpredictable weather, it is hard to travel to other towns and play against our oppenents. We play less than 15 games a year, and even lower when Covid-19 hit. I lack the experience most high schoolers get with more in state camps, games played and exposure to elite players. Having played many sports and participated in many extracurriculars, I have maintained a relatively high GPA at 3.95. I may not be the most muscular athlete, nor tallest, but I am willing to work hard to meet any expectations. The average height of our team is realtively small compared to most college athletes and oppposing teams. Consequently, I have played as a post player for the duration of my high school career. I have been known for my defense more than offense, and have been called the 'garbage man'.
