Austen Poling '22 Recruiting Profile

Playing baseball has been a huge part of my life. I have been playing since I was 5 years old and understand the value of being part of a team. I am highly competitive with myself and am always looking for ways to improve and further expand upon my skills. Living in Arizona has given me the chance to spend 10 out of 12 months on the ball field. I feel this has led to a very high baseball IQ and understanding of the game. By dedicating so much time to baseball, I have had to learn what commitment and sacrifice means and how to balance and maintain high academics, sports and quality time with my family and friends.

I have always considered myself a 2-way player even though I have spent significantly more time over the past 2 years playing as a right-handed pitcher than as a 3^rd baseman, short stop, and outfielder. I am looking for a college program that offers strong academics, promotes teamwork, and provides a solid coaching staff that will help me to further expand upon my skills and fine tune my pitching techniques so I can live up to my full potential.
