Hello, my name is Michael Raby Jr. but my coaches and teammates call me Mikey. I am a part of the 2022 graduating class at Willow Canyon High School where I play varsity baseball. I currently play 2nd base; however, I am a utility player and am often called upon to jump in at other positions. I primarily bat from the right side of the plate but can also hit from the left side if need be. While baseball has been an obsession of mine since before I could walk, I try to embody the traits of a student athlete; the student part comes first. My goals, both on and off the field, are to learn, grow, and improve. I can achieve these goals with the support of my teachers and coaches who help me take a failure and turn it into a learning experience; hopefully never making the same mistake twice. My work ethic and growth mindset help me listen to their advice and put it into action. I live by the motto “You can not lose if you want to win.” and apply this philosophy in both academics and sports. I hope to find a home at a 4-year college at which I can pursue a degree in sports medicine while kicking butt on the field with my new baseball brothers.
