Personal Statement

This is Isaac Greer.  I am a RHP playing as a Sophomore for North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, IA.  I played my Freshman year for the College of San Mateo in California.   I graduated in June of 2015 from Prince of Wales Mini School (with a GPA of 3.95, so far) in Vancouver, Canada.

I would describe myself as fastball pitcher (I have hit 95 MPH in recent games, sitting 91-93 MPH), however,  I use a cutter and change and continue to work on other pitches (curveball , slider).  I am 6’2” and weigh 185 lbs.

I am considering many different options for a my transfer next year to a 4 year university.  I most interested in a school and baseball program that can provide a combination of quality education and sports, where I can have the opportunity to play and learn.  I expect to major in business, economics or engineering.

  • Camp/Event
  • Perfect Game Showcase

  • (Isaac had broken middle toe of left foot in mid July so was not pitching with full power). PG Assessment: “Isaac Greer is a 2015 RHP/IF with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Vancouver, BC who attends Prince Of Wales Mini School. Large frame, tall lean build with room to fill. Pitches from a high three quarters arm slot with a drop and drive delivery. Maintains his balance well in delivery with good extension out front. Big sweeping break on slider, shape varies and can resemble a curveball at times, best break at upper end of velocity range in mid 70s, also flashed solid changeup. Line drive swing plane with good extension though contact and moves well laterally in the infield. Good student.”
  • Camp/Event
  • Stanford Baseball Camp
  • 6/29/14 to 7/02/14
  • Isaac played 3B and pitched 4 innings. He faced 15 batters with 6 Ks, 2 BBs, 1 H and 0 ERs (note - batters started with a 1-1 count). Comments from Coach David Valesente (Saint Joseph’s University): “On the mound, Isaac had a great showing at camp.... He had good command of his pitches and pounded the zone. His ¾ arm slot created some arm side run which was effective.… His tall frame worked to his advantage creating some deception and a nice downhill angle.” “Defensively Isaac made several nice plays at third base… His arm strength was above average across the diamond which could allow him to play on the left side of the infield...” “Overall he is a versatile, hard-nosed player who could play at the next level.” “Isaac definitely has the ability to play at the college level. He has an athletic build and good instincts. It was a pleasure to have him on my team.”
