My name is Antonio Melendez and I will be graduating from Chico Senior High School this year, 2023. I have been playing baseball at a competitive level throughout the my life since the age of 5. Most of my competition has been on All-Stars where you travel around with the best guys of your league and compete against other great players of different regions. Your also competing against many high schools and summer programs that have had many kids go to some big schools throughout all of California. I have had the privilege of taking several teams to championship levels in my region as starting pitcher or outfielder. I was the recipient of many MVP awards for my River hawks travel team. I have been recognized on numerous occasions to be forwarded to coaches at the collegiate level to further progress my academic and baseball skills just within this past year because of how much I have improved and grown as a man and a player.
I am a hard worker and am extremely dedicated when it comes down to practice and learning from my coaches. I make it a priority to be great friends with my teammates. I'm different from other recruits just by the way I work and practice. Getting after it in the weight room is something that is special to me. Not only for baseball but to improve my overall being so I have stuck with it to be dedicated to the diamond and the gym. I have a workout routine to strengthen my pitching and my overall strength so that I can excel in the beautiful game of baseball. My love and passion has always been there for this game. And I believe and pray to God that I may be able to play at the collegiate level.
