My dad has been my only participating parent since I was one years old. Being raised by a single parent I have learned a great deal of responsibility, dedication and perseverance. I have implemented these life skills into my academics and sports. I have been playing baseball since the age of five and it has always been my passion. Having my dad as a coach was not the easiest at times. He was hard on me on and off the field pushing me beyond what I thought were my limits. That in turn, has taught me that the sky is the limit and success is not guaranteed it is earned.
One of my most challenging obstacle was during 4th grade when I struggles with mathematics. By the time I was in 5th grade, I was considerably behind the other average students. I took it upon myself to talk to my dad and we decided i go to a learning center. I went twice a week for a year. In conclusion of my 5th grade year, I was above average and continue to excel in mathematics. During that time I learned effort, attitude, and attendance. which I apply to school but to baseball as well.
