Personal Statement

I'm a 6'4" 180 lb RHP and utility player. This is my 3rd season as a Varsity starter. Unfortunately, baseball seasons were cut short this Junior year.

This year, as a Junior, I had 7 hits and was leading the team. I had lowest ERA of 0.44 in 16 innings pitched. In my last outing I pitched a complete game with 2 hits, 0 walks, 0 runs. We won 1-0 and I had the lone RBI.
As a sophomore, I led the team in hitting (.355), hits (27), RBIs (16) and slugging (.434)
I was voted the team co-MVP and was named to the second team All City League Team
I represented my team at the SD County Underclassmen All Star Game
The Collegiate Baseball newspaper named me on the High School Players to Watch for 2020

Gavin Graff is a 2021 RHP/IF, OF with a 6-4 182 lb. frame from La Jolla, CA who attends La Jolla. Long and lengthy build with present athleticism, posted a 6.94 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary pitcher, has a longer and loose arm action from an over the to top slot. Conventional looking mechanics, fastball up to 82 mph. Works both sides of the plate well and isn't afraid to work inside with his fastball. Fastball also possesses good downward angle to the plate. Mixes in a 72 mph curveball with an 11-to-5 shape. Shows an ability to manipulate his breaking ball. Can throw it as a get me over as well as an out pitch with plus bite to the plate. From the outfield, fields out in front and is able to cover a ton of territory. Reads the ball well and takes a huge crow hop after he gathers. Throws stay on line to all bags. At the plate, uses an upright and even stance with a low leg kick trigger. Stays balanced throughout his swing. Shows good pop to all fields, hands work directly to the baseball. Flat barrel plane through the zone with a middle of the field approach.
