I have been passionate about baseball ever since I can remember and my passion for the game grows stronger every time I step out on the field. My goal is to improve every time I practice or play. I love being on the field with my teammates playing the game I have been devoted to for the past 11 years. Through my years as a baseball player, I have learned that it takes commitment, dedication, and drive to achieve goals in life. Baseball has also taught me to be an honorable teammate and help others on and off the field.
Off the field, I give back to the community. I have been a member of the Young Men’s Service League (YMSL) for the past three years. I have been appointed to serve on the board of this organization for my senior year. As a member of YMSL, I have volunteered many hours at charity events in the Bay Area. In addition to my volunteer work, I have been working since the beginning of my sophomore year in high school. My favorite job has been coaching and giving lessons to young baseball players. Passing on my knowledge of the game has been a rewarding experience. Through volunteer work and my jobs, I have demonstrated my dependability and leadership skills.
Through my many years as a multi-sport athlete, I have learned the importance of commitment, coach-ability, and dealing with adversity. After playing basketball, football, and baseball for over ten years, it was during my sophomore year in high school that I decided to focus all of my effort on baseball. From that point on, I have been doing what it takes to set myself up for success including work in the weight room and weekly throwing sessions beyond regular practices.
My goal is to play at the collegiate level, and I would be honored to contribute my skills and work-ethic as part of your program. I know that I will give my all 100% of the time wherever I am chosen to play. I will continue to give my all 100% of the time in the classroom as well and work hard for a great education. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my personal statement.
