My name is Will Sanford. I've always had a passion for baseball and have been playing since I was 3. I've always wanted to play college ball and after I want to get drafted. Whenever I step on the field I have a competitive drive to be the best on the field. I work hard everyday to get myself better and I am always looking for ways to improve my game.

Will Sanford (2024, San Diego, Calif.) showcased loud stuff to start the day. The right-handed utilizes an athletic delivery down the mound with good arm speed present. The fastball sat 89-92 mph, topping out at 93 mph. A quality downhill plane allows the offering to work well at the bottom of the zone. Sanford paired the heater with a sharp, 11-5 curveball at 73-76 mph. Late bite allows the offering to generate whiffs often. Sanford also showed feel for a changeup in the low-80s. Good arm speed deception allows the offering to get hitters out front. It is a quality pitch mix that can keep a lineup quiet.

Will is an athletic SS/RHP prospect who has a bright future on the diamond. In the field, Will shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He fields in an athletic position and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and fires accurate throws with carry across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through a tall setup. He is smooth to load and works through a level swing. He generates fast bat speed through the zone and drives the ball with authority. On the mound, Will gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Will operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 87mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 70-72mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 71-75mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Will is a talented prospect who has the skill set to make an impact at the next level.

Will Sanford is a 2024 3B/RHP/SS with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends The Rock Academy. Sanford was impressive both from the infield and on the mound for the week, showcasing solid range up the middle at his primary position with sound glovework. Sanford has room to continue developing the frame with athleticism already evident. On the mound, Sanford ran the fastball up to 85 mph from a high 3/4 slot, displaying a smooth repeatable delivery. He sequenced a fading changeup and sweeping breaker well to complement the fastball and keep hitters off balance. Offensively, Sanford flashed a balanced stroke with lots of strength present in the hands. He has raw power potential that will continue to increase in the future. Ran a 6.93 sixty yard dash. Good student. Named to Top Prospect List.

Scout Notes: Will Sanford (2024, San Diego, Calif.) was impressive, and has a live arm with good arm whip. Throws from a three-quarter arm slot, the fastball has slight arm-side run at times. He lived off his fastball and had great command over it. He was able to locate it inside and outside and could throw it at different planes. He was confident, worked quickly and threw a lot of strikes. His fastball topped out at 86 mph. He flashed a curveball that has potential to be a great out pitch at 71 mph. He features a lean, athletic build that allows him to field his position and look athletic.
