I have started on our varsity baseball squad since freshmen year. It’s very important to me that I be able to continue playing this sport through college. This isn't just a sport that I play because I excel at it, baseball is my passion. Since I began playing baseball I have found myself spending countless hours studying statistics and understanding the game on a deeper level. It's my desire to fully understand the game and continually improve at everything I do. I have spent many years playing this sport and put in many extra hours to push myself above and beyond. For the 2018-2019 season, I made the MCAL Honorable Mention team. I batted .313 on the year but .379 in the second half of the season. I also led the league in stolen bases and was tied for 17th in the North Coast Section in California. As a pitcher I have been clocked on the radar topping out at 88 mph, and at the plate I have recorded exit velocities as high as 97 mph.
As I head into my senior year I’m preparing to maintain a high GPA, while also devoting much of my time to training so I can be a dominant player. I’m looking for a college that will bring a competitive balance, both academically and athletically. As Covid-19 has affected life in many aspects I still have found ways to consistently be on the field and continue playing. Since the end of May I have played in pickup games every weekend and I am throwing off a mound twice a week. My summer team also is practicing twice a week and I am beginning to play games with them as well. As of right now, my primary concern is finding a college where I can play baseball, but ideally I would do something in business. I would like to play for a college where I can make an impact on the team within the first two years, whether it’s pitching or playing in the outfield. I have no preference on whether the college is public or private and I would be willing to play DI, DII, DIII, or NAIA.
