Jackson O'Neal '17 Recruiting Profile

    I love the game of baseball and I hope I can continue to play it because I think the game teaches me about life and how to become a better person. 

    My collegiate goals are to receive a strong academic education while concurrently participating in baseball.  It is my plan to play baseball as long as possible.  However, I realize I need a solid education to proceed through life with a career.  

    My philosophy towards playing baseball is to help my team win games.  I am willing to play wherever the coach needs me and sacrifice whenever an at bat calls for it.  I am a competitor and aim to compete on every play with maximum effort.

    The difference between me and other recruits is that my grades are very strong and I can keep a great attitude on and off the field.  I stay out of trouble off the field and make it a priority be on time for every event.  I will showcase my skills to the best of my ability and one of my strong attributes is being coach-able.  Every coach I have had has told me I follow instructions and apply what is being taught effectively.  Also, I am a student of the game and learn more and more every time I play.
