Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Logan Wendell and I am currently a junior attending Birmingham community charter high school in Van Nuys, California. I was born on June 10, 2003 in Orlando, Florida. I am currently standing at 5'9 and 230 LBS. My primary position is left field, my secondary positions are right field and designated hitter. I bat right handed and throw right handed. I have tremendous love for the game of baseball, and have been playing the game of baseball since I was four years old. I have had the blessing of learning the game with lots of great coaches, without them I wouldn't be were I am today. When i'm not playing baseball or at school, I am usually working out or spending time with my family. School and baseball take up a majority of my time, but I try to get as much work in as possible on and off the field. I train everyday during the season, and I workout four to five times a week during the off-season with my team. I lost my mom when i was four and my dad has not been a strong father figure in my life. Despite these obstacles, I have adapted and overcame. It has helped shape me into the young man that I am today. When it comes to college, I would like to major in physical therapy. Sports science is my career goal if baseball does not work out. I started on the freshman team, but with the hard work and dedication I have worked my way up to the varsity level. Last year I batted 4th in the lineup with a .375 batting average. In my concluding statement, I would like to let all my college coaches know that I am a very hard worker, and I try to get something out of each day wether that be school or baseball. My coaches say I am a very fun and good spirited kid, but at the same time very coachable, and always open to ones advice.
