Gavin Kirk '27 Recruiting Profile

My goal in sports has always been to give 110% in all that I do. Like the time Jordan Spieth won the Masters when I was 5 years old and the next morning I woke up at dawn to practice my swing. I still try to put in the kind of time, effort and energy necessery to improve daily.  I still play golf, I also play soccer, basketball, and football but baseball is my real passion.  

I started playing baseball when I was 4.  My dad coached me until I was 10, and my mom even coached me one year in t-ball.  She knew I was going to be a ball player when I hit a line drive into her face and broke her glasses.  I have played competitive baseball in Colorado with Power Alley and then now Slammers North. I play centerfield, right field, shortstop, and pitcher but I've played every position except first base.  My favorite position is whatever gets me on the field to help my team. This last year I switched to NOCO Slammers. On my 2024 team I batted .458, had a .544 OBP, and had a 1.267 OPS. I also had the most stolen base and RBIs on my team. My team had some struggles but I always tried to help bring us together.

I work hard in school and getting good grades is a priority. When I'm not playing sports or studying for school, I love playing guitar, running my own car detailing business, umpiring for youth baseball and playing sports with my younger brothers.

My highest aspiration is to successfully play college baseball at a D1 school.  I have passion and determination that has helped me succeed in my sports career so far. However, I would say my best quality is I have always been a leader on my teams. I am an encouraging teammate that motivates others to succeed too.
