Personal Statement
My name is Matthew Oberlander, class of 2021, attending Fort Collins High School. I have aimed high and worked hard to be able to compete as a athlete, and am aspiring to complete this goal. As a student athlete, I know that student comes before athlete, and my class grades and GPA would be a huge part of my participation in a college baseball program. I have a get it done mindset that allows me to manage my school work and athletics simultaneously so I can spend my time trying to get better as an athlete. On the field I am determined to do my very best every practice, and every game. Likewise, I have a very high interest in situational ball so I know where to be, and what will happen on the field in any given situation. The desire to play at the next level is motivation that I use everyday to improve. I know a player needs to learn from previous mistakes in order to correct them in the future. I also work extremely hard to be a model teammate, student, and person, and strongly believe competing at the college level can help me to grow. Thank you for taking time to view my profile and I hope you consider me for your program.
