  • Baseball Factory 05/04/2014 - Premium Video Program - Lakewood (Denver), CO Capper is a lean 2B that will graduate in 2015. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.34 60 time. Defensive abilities are superior as he displays quick / athletic actions. He moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF and attacks ground balls, playing through well with his body. Hands are soft / clean / sure as he presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play and has big play potential. Throws are accurate with carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup and tracks the ball well. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields well. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. Newton has a ton of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.
