Personal Statement

My name is Taylor Cotts and I am an aspiring first baseman with a dream to further my playing career. I’m from the small town of Pagosa Springs CO. We are in no means a baseball town, meaning I have been limited to no offseason facilities for the winter and have had very limited coaching. Then with COVID being added on top, my recruiting has been extremely difficult. I personally acknowledge that my skills are slightly behind many of my competitors, but I am a blue collar hard working athlete that puts everything into this. if you are willing to take a chance on me, I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

  • Hit: LHH, Slightly open stance, does a good job closing down to get to a launch position with a short stride. Creates firm line drive contact and maintains balance throughout the swing. Exit Velocity: 81, limited power at this time but hard line drive contact Defense: Hands and footwork are solid with a good glove to throwing hand transfer. Working the hands further out in front will allow the ability to adjust to a wide variety of hops on the balls on the ground. Arm Velocity: 72, from a ¾ arm slot
