Personal Statement

I first fell in love with the game baseball at a young age, I loved everything about it from practice to game time. It was my sophomore year in high school, and we were coming off a playoff season and we had high expectations. This is when I became an everyday starter and when baseball became a passion for me and something that I wanted to pursue at a higher level.

One of the major things that I have come to recognize is the commitment that I have for the game of baseball. It was during my junior season of high school baseball, and I was in a slump. I worked extra with my coaches to overcome this challenging time and to build a stronger mental focus. This time really influenced me, my coaches could have gone home early to be with their families, but they spent extra time with me to help me improve. This is when I realized that they saw something in me and the drive I have to compete. I realize that being a student athlete requires more, I currently have a high GPA and am continuing to strive to improve it. I also have a goal to graduate high school in the top half of my class. I wish to continue this drive academically into college and obtain my degree while being a student athlete.

As a team leader in multiple high school sports as well as a multiple academic all-state award winner and member of the National Society of High School Scholars, I believe that I have the dedication and leadership abilities as well as the drive and passion to positively influence your team.
