My name is Daniel Cantafi. I’m an honor student, two-sport varsity athlete, and volunteer coach. As of 6/2/21, I finished my junior year pitching and playing 1st base for Glastonbury CT High School’s varsity baseball team (Class LL) throwing 30 innings over 12 appearances, including 3 starts and 9 in relief, recorded 3 wins vs Conard, Farmington (Conference Championship), and RHAM, collected 1 save vs New Britain, struck out 27 total batters, and had a 2.8 ERA.
My passion for baseball began at the young age of 5 when I was hitting balls off the tee which eventually led to Little League and District All-Stars. At 14 years old, I played up in 17U summer Legion ball as a shortstop and pitcher. When the baseball season came to a halt in the spring of 2020, I kept up my strength training and conditioning and competed in a virtual 5k for charity. I was never happier to find out we could play summer Legion and I continued to play Legion baseball on the 19U team during the 2020 fall season. This gave me great experience competing with high-caliber varsity high school and college players.
Throughout the years, I’ve grown a lot as a person and player through hard work, dedication, and teamwork on and off the field. I look forward to my next goal of competing at the college level in 2022.
