Ben Kuja '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ben Kuja.  I attend Daniel Hand High School, in Madison, CT.  My lifelong dream is to play high level college baseball.  I fell in love with the game at an early age and haven’t looked back.  My persistence and perfectionism mold me into the player and student I am today.  I love the grind, and I work as hard as I can on the field, in the weight room, in the classroom, and in the community to reach my goals.  Yet, not having stepped on the field for my Junior year, I have two years of Varsity baseball experience.  The first of which I contributed to the program’s first ever state championship as the starting RF/DH.  My sophomore year I led off while playing CF, and my coach described me as the “lightning rod” of the team.  My constant energy and fearlessness helped me lead the team in many offensive categories including: BA, OBP, OPS, XBH, and SB.  My ability to acknowledge weaknesses and improve on them sets me apart from others in my recruiting class.  I have been overlooked most of my baseball career due to my size, but I continue to defy expectations and thrive in big time moments.  Thank you for reading my personal statement, and I know I would make a great addition to your team.
